Matushka Anna was born in 1942 and grew up in an Old Believer family in Turkey. Her husband, Fr. Gerasim, an Old Believer priest, was received into ROCOR and later passed away in 1995 while serving the parish in Richmond Hill, NY. These spiritual songs and an interview were recorded in New York in December 2011.

Да, матушка – явление уникальное.
Как-то на весь синод раздается страшный шум: “Бум-бум…” После продолжительных поисков, обитатели синода обнаружили … молитвенник в сушильной машине. Подозрение сразу пало на матушку Анну.
– Матушка, Вы не знаете, кто взял молитвенник с клироса и положил в сушильную машину?
– Это я его от воска очищаю,- невозмутимо сказала матушка
